6th October 2006
Windsurfing: saunton sands Wind Direction: w ish Wind Stength: 30 - 40 mph Surf / Sea State: very big! very white Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
It wasn't the best tides as there was a long walk involved but waves didn't
look too big from the top of the beach, just a bit white
Once in the water they got a lot bigger glad the wind was onshore as it
flattened them out a bit and meant I didn't have to go out of my depth!
Good fun trying to sail up and down inbetween the lines of waves and swell.
It was very much survial conditons for me but got a few runs in. I started
on the 112 lt board but it was way too big. Next I changed down to my 89
lt axxis for a while but I hadn't realised how crap the non slip was I was
having a nightmare getting it going I was being dragged off the front
instead of the board moving, then I managed to break the uj. I checked the
rubber before going out but it was the bolt which screws into the bottom
that failed. The next board on the list was an 84 lt freestyle wave
woohooooo great fun never thought I would be able to sail a board so small
but was easy to get going and comfortable when up and going.
Decided to call it aday after that as I was knackerd
